Opuntia ficus-indica seed oil, commonly known as prickly pear seed oil, is pressed from the seeds of the prickly pear cactus.

It is naturally rich in unsaturated fatty acids, particularly linoleic acid, and contains tocopherols and phytosterols. In skincare its main role is as an emollient: it softens and conditions the skin and helps reduce moisture loss.

Prickly pear seed oil has a relatively light texture, making it useful where the conditioning benefits of a plant oil are wanted without an excessively heavy finish.
